The TIME Malaysia With Great Choice
The download speed (from English “download”) indicates the time taken to transfer data from a server to the device in use (PC, tablet, smartphone) over the network. This is the case when, for example, you download a file or video from the internet. The faster the download speed, the smoother and faster browsing will be. A good download speed is therefore essential if you want to watch streaming videos and movies without interruption, but also if you love to play online or if you need to use VoIP services to make video calls. What is the upload speed?
The upload speed (from English “upload”) measures how long it takes to transfer data from your device to the network. This is the case, for example, when you upload a file to attach it to an e-mail you are about to send. The higher the upload speed, the more you can upload and send even large files without problems.

How are upload and download speeds measured?
Both speeds can be expressed in Kilobits per second (kbps or kbit/ s) or, more frequently, in Megabits per second (Mbps, Mbit / s or simply Mega). Most internet rates use this second measure, advertising in particular the download speed, which is always higher than the upload speed: the acronym ADSL stands for Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line.
Internet rates: what download and upload speeds do they offer?
The download speed reported by the operators in the advertisements represents the maximum achievable bandwidth, which however does not always correspond to reality. This is why operators are always required to indicate the minimum guaranteed bandwidth, or the minimum download speed provided for in the contract. In the event that, by carrying out a test to measure the speed of your ADSL, you should realize that this limit is not respected, you can file a complaint with the operator.
With traditional ADSL it is possible to reach a maximum download speed of 7 or even 20 Mega, even if the real surfing speed is often much lower and is around 2 Mega. As for the upload, the main ADSL offers guarantee a maximum speed of 1 or 3 Mega.
